Learn how to edit text, in-line links and call to action buttons in Email Framework content blocks.
Editing text
Copy the text that you’d like to paste into the content block.
Paste that text into a plain text editor (TextEdit for Macs, NotePad for PCs).
Convert that text to plain text to remove any formatting (don’t paste into emails directly from Word, Google docs, or other rich text editors).
Copy the plain text.
Click on the content block you’d like to edit in Marketing Cloud.
In the left side window that opens up, select the text that you’d like to replace except the first and last letters of the placeholder text (this will ensure what you paste in has the correct formatting).
Paste in your content.
Delete the first and last letters of the placeholder content.
Adding in-line text links
Select the text you’d like to add a hyperlink to.
Click the link icon in the editor or hold down control (for PCs) or command (for Macs) and then press “K” on the keyboard.
Check that the “Link to” type is correct for what you’re trying to do.
Common types of links:
“Website” or “Secure Website” for most websites.
“Email Address” for linking to an email address.
“Forward to a Friend” if you’d like the text to be used for someone to be able to forward the email to someone else.
In the Link URL field, paste the link URL or email address (leave as-is for Forward to a Friend).
In the Link Text, confirm that the text is how you’d like the link to appear in the email
For link color, ensure it’s #006298 (this is set by default in the basic text blocks; it will show up as the correct color when you preview the email).
Check the “Include underline on hyperlink” to add an underline.
Leave the Title blank.
For the Tracking Alias, write how you’d like the link to be identified in the analytics. The default will be the full link URL.
Click OK to save.
Double check your link looks and works how you expect.
