Ah, holiday season. Warm drinks, time with loved ones, and an inundation of holiday messages from every person and brand you’ve ever interacted with. Check out these tips for sending good holiday emails.
Do’s
- Do ensure your message follows email best practices and is highly relevant to your audience so it will stand out in crowded inboxes.
- Do get creative! Try animated gifs or request an embedded video in your email. You can also find holiday email inspiration online.
- Do coordinate holiday sends with other units to avoid sending messages on the same day. For reference, President Whitten’s annual holiday message is slated for December 13, 2022. All holiday messages should come after the president has sent hers.
Don’ts
- Don’t feel obligated to send a holiday email. Everyone’s work and personal inboxes are flooded during the holidays. Consider whether another holiday message will actually add value to your audience.
- Don’t send your email without approval. Request your audience contact data in advance.
